Eligibility
Every application is considered on its individual merits, but the following guidelines are applied:
(a) A candidate holding an appropriate HETAC National Diploma/Level 7 B.Sc. Degree with Merit I, Merit II or Distinction (or equivalent qualification) is normally considered for entry into the Third Year of the NUI Galway B.Sc. Degree programme.
(b) A candidate holding an appropriate HETAC National Diploma/Level 7 B.Sc. Degree with Pass (overall average result 55% or greater) is normally considered for entry into the Third Year of the NUI Galway B.Sc. Degree programme.
(c) A candidate holding an appropriate HETAC National Diploma/Level 7 B.Sc. Degree with Pass (overall average result 54% or less) is normally considered for entry into the Second Year of the NUI Galway B.Sc. Degree programme.
(d) A candidate holding an appropriate HETAC National Certificate/Level 6 Higher Certificate with Merit I, Merit II or Distinction (or equivalent qualification) is normally considered for entry into the Second year of the NUI Galway B.Sc. Degree programme.
(e) A candidate holding an appropriate HETAC National Certificate/Level 6 Higher Certificate with Pass (overall average result 55% or greater) is normally considered for entry into the Second Year of the NUI Galway B.Sc. Degree programme.
(f) Holders of HETAC National Diploma/Level 7 B.Sc. Degrees or HETAC National Certificate/Level 6 Higher Certificates who have not obtained Merit or Distinction or relevant Pass are not, normally, considered for entry into the B.Sc. Degree programme of the Second or later years.
