Student Testimonials

Aoife Keegan |   MSc Chemistry Research student

I chose the Structured MSc course at NUIG because it gives you a chance to experience full-time research in a laboratory environment, which is something not all undergraduate courses provide. It challenges you to be independent and take control of a project that is solely yours. The academic staff are extremely helpful in guiding you whilst also giving you space to make your own decisions and make the most of your experience. If research is an area you are interested in, this is the course for you.

Ciaran O'Malley |   MSc Chemistry Research student

I chose the MSc in Chemistry as if felt that the opportunities it provided for research in a laboratory environment would allow the acquisition of experience and skills which would prove invaluable in either continuing on to study for a PhD or for preparation for work in industry.

Patrick Gallagher |   MSc Chemistry Research student

The research aspect of this course really appealed to me as I felt one more year of training would give me a better chance to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry of my choice. NUIG offers MSc students to work in a research-oriented industry for 8 months and I will be working for Eli Lilly & Company in Kinsale, Co. Cork. The course is dynamic and demanding, but this is essentially what MSc students are looking for!
