Research gains see NUI Galway rise in worldwide rankings while other Irish universities fall

In the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings, NUI Galway has seen a significant rise in its position worldwide, jumping from 314th university in the world in 2013 to 261st this year.

While other Irish universities have lost ground in the face of funding cuts and increased student numbers, NUI Galway has seen improvements across the board owing to ongoing infrastructure improvements and crucially, an improving research impact.

Displacing UCC, NUI Galway now ranks a close third behind UCD and TCD.
