Cell EXPLORERS is an outreach programme that proposes hands-on and fun practice of cellular and molecular biology to engage young people in biological and biomedical sciences. Cell EXPLORERS offers school visits and science festival workshop to a wide range of young people and their family.  The programme, funded by Science Foundation Ireland Discover Awards, is piloting a model of sustainable public engagement in science unique in Ireland. This model involves both a curriculum-integrated component and a strong base of volunteering undergraduate, postgraduate students, lecturers and researchers.

Recently the programme has expanded nationally and Cell EXPLORERS teams have been created in other partner Higher Education Institutions.
