Application Procedures

1. Transfer Application forms  will be available from the Admissions Office at NUI, Galway (tel. 091 524411) from Easter onwards.

2. Application must be made directly on an official application form to the Admissions Office, National University of Ireland, Galway, together with a copy of the candidate's original Birth Certificate.

3. In addition, you must ensure that a detailed statement, setting out the subjects taken in each year of your course at the Institute of Technology and the individual subject examination results obtained, is submitted directly to the Admissions Office by the closing date. This statement must indicate the overall percentage mark received at the terminal examination. Please note that NUI, Galway will not seek results on your behalf.

4. If, at the time of application, your most recent examination result transcript has not yet been issued by your current educational institution, you should forward the application form and all earlier trancripts to reach the Admissions Office by the deadline given and you should ensure that the most recent transcript is forwarded to the relevant College Office as soon as possible after this deadline. Please see Section 8 of this booklet for contact names and addresses.

5. Application materials should reach the Admissions Office, NUI Galway, not later than the deadline indicated on the official application form.

6. Please note that only applications for which detailed marks of the First and Second Year Examinations and detailed marks of Diploma Examination (where relevant) are received in NUI, Galway, will be considered.

7. Candidates are advised that the attainment of any of the minimum qualifications outlined in these guidelines does not oblige the Colleges concerned to accept their application for entry into any of the courses of the B.Sc. Degree programme.

8. All applications will be duly acknowledged.
