Benjamin Breen
Benjamin holds a B.A (Hons) in Economics and English Lit from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth and an M.Sc. in Financial Economics and Capital Markets from Dublin City University. His postgraduate research was focused on the correlation of the London AIM (Alternative Investment Market) portfolio with several major market index portfolios, and the significance of the correlations for the performance of IPO (Initial Public Offering) stocks listed on the AIM. His professional background includes one and a half years at a financial asset management company where he worked with structured ABS (Asset Backed Security) portfolios, and a further period as a contractor in the financial sector
Benjamin is currently undertaking a PhD studentship in the department of Economics at NUIG. His main research topic is concerned with the application of financial portfolio theory to fisheries and coastal zone management. The research will be carried out under the supervision of Dr. Stephen Hynes of SEMRU.
