SIMPle - Supporting the Improvement and Management of Prescribing for UTI
The SIMPle study is a multidisciplinary research study, which aims to support the improvement and management of prescribing for urinary tract infections (UTI) in general practice.
The main focus of the study is looking at how antibiotics are used in the community, for both the GP as the prescriber and the patient as the consumer.In the study people from various backgrounds, including; epidemiology, health economics, social marketing, general practice and microbiology, work together.
This SIMPle study is part of a three year research program funded by the Health Research Board (HRB) of Ireland. Ethical approval for the study was obtained from the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP).
