Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants will be considered on the basis of having a primary (level 8) degree (minimum standard Second Class Hons Grade 2) in one of the following: BA, with a major in Social Work, Sociology, Social Policy, Psychology, Economics & Social Studies or B.Soc. Sc. or holding qualifications deemed equivalent by the College of Arts, Social Sciences & Celtic Studies. Applicants will also be required to provide evidence of voluntary or paid work experience relevant to the social work profession. Two letters of reference, one academic and one work related, are required. Short-listed applicants will be called for interview.
Selection Criteria
In addition to the above stipulated criteria, each candidate will complete the online application form, and provide to supplement the online application, a personal statement; record of work experience; two letters of recommendation and academic transcripts. Short-listed applicants will be invited for an admission interview. Applicants will not be able to defer placement if they are not able to take up the place. They would, instead, be required to re-apply for admission in the new academic year. Garda vetting is necessary and required for student participants on the programme.
