Dr. Nata Duvvury is development expert with research interests in, gender, livelihoods, governance and social mobilization. Dr. Duvvury has extensive international research and program experience in gender and development, with particular emphasis on gender inequality, domestic violence, rights-based approached to development, and civil society participation and accountability. She has authored numerous more than fifty research reports, peer-review publications and papers in edited books. Her most recent work focuses on the links between gender equality and economic growth as well as the gendered impacts of the current economic crisis in Ireland.
Current research interests include modelling impacts of gender equality on economic growth and poverty reduction, gender analysis of policy responses to economic crisis, dynamics of asset ownership and rural identity, and measuring costs of violence against women.
