Hispanic Research Seminars, 2012-13
The Spanish Department at NUIG is hosting a series of research seminars in Hispanic Studies during the second semester of the 2012-13 academic year. All talks will take place in the Moore Institute Seminar Room.
On the 31st of January, Prof Idelber Avelar (Tulane Iniversity) will deliver his paper, ’Rituals and Fictions of Masculinity in Jorge Luis Borges’. The talk begins at 6.00pm
On the 13th of March, Dr Ross Woods (University of Victoria, Wellington) will deliver his paper 'The Ghosts of the Past: La familia de Pascual Duarte in the Twenty-first Century’. The talk begins at 5.30pm
On the 21st of March, Dr Niamh Thornton (University of Ulster) will deliver her paper ’Macho, Macho Men (and Women): María Félix and Emilio "el Indio" Fernández in Mexican Films of the Revolution’. The talk begins at 5.30pm
On the 22nd of March, Dr Lorraine Kelly (NUIG) will delive her paper ,’Narcoliterature: gender, violence and impunity’. The talk begins at 1.00pm
