Hispanic Research Seminars, 2012-13

The Spanish Department at NUIG is hosting a series of research seminars in Hispanic Studies during the second semester of the 2012-13 academic year. All talks will take place in the Moore Institute Seminar Room.

On the 31^st of January, Prof Idelber Avelar (Tulane Iniversity) will deliver his paper, ’Rituals and Fictions of Masculinity in Jorge Luis Borges’. The talk begins at 6.00pm

On the 13^th of March, Dr Ross Woods (University of Victoria, Wellington) will deliver his paper 'The Ghosts of the Past: La familia de Pascual Duarte in the Twenty-first Century’. The talk begins at 5.30pm

On the 21^st of March, Dr Niamh Thornton (University of Ulster) will deliver her paper ’Macho, Macho Men (and Women): María Félix and Emilio "el Indio" Fernández in Mexican Films of the Revolution’. The talk begins at 5.30pm

On the 22^nd of March, Dr Lorraine Kelly (NUIG) will delive her paper ,’Narcoliterature: gender, violence and impunity’. The talk begins at 1.00pm
