Spanish Staff and Postgraduates participate in ’San Patricios’ Festival in Clifden

On Saturday Sept 8th 2012, Staff and postgraduate students from the Spanish Department, NUI Galway presented the following programme of events at the ’San Patricio Festival’ in Clifden, Co Galway:

2.00-3.00pm: ¡Viva la Revolución!
Remembering and celebrating the Mexican Revolution with a combination of history, literature, painting, popular song and film.

3.00-3.30pm: Mexican Writing Today.
Readings from contemporary Mexican literature.

3.30-4.00pm: NUIG Mexican Poster Competition.
Announcement of the winner of the competition, Louise Carroll (4BA Spanish)

5.00pm, Station House Theatre: Mexican Film.
Los Olvidados (Dir. Luis Buñuel), introduced by Ivan Kenny (PhD student)
