Visiting scholars, sharing the multi-disciplinary interests of our members and wishing to carry out research at NUI, Galway, may apply to the SSRC at any time during the year. If an application is approved, computer equipment and network access will be made available and the scholar will be provided with a study space in St Declan's.

The Board of the SSRC offers up to €1,450 annually for a SPECIAL VISITING SCHOLAR, expected to visit NUI, Galway for approximately a week at any time during the year, in which period he or she delivers a public lecture or seminar organised by the SSRC in conjunction with his or her sponsor. The paper should be subsequently made available to the SSRC for publication.
Applications by potential sponsors are invited, addressed to the Secretary, SSRC, St Declan's, Distillery Road, NUI Galway.
