Recent Awards and Grants:
2011-2012 IRCHSS/DFA: The Mediated Settlement of Armed Conflicts in Northern Ireland and Bosnia-Herzegovina: Lessons for Conflict Resolution in African States
The Irish Research Council on the Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS) Research Development Initiative and the Department of Foreign Affairs recently awarded a research grant to
Prof. Sinisa Malešević (PI),
Dr. Niall Ó Dochartaigh,
Prof. Bill Schabas, and
Prof. Tom Lodge from UL for a project entitled ’The Mediated Settlement of Armed Conflicts in Northern Ireland and Bosnia and Herzegovina: Lessons for Conflict Resolution in African States? worth ca 48,802 Euros. This project is a result of a joint initiative between UL and NUI, Galway. The project involves participants from the School of Political Science and Sociology and the Irish Centre for Human Rights at NUI, Galway and the Department of Politics and Public Administration at UL.
2010-2011:
Negotiating an End to Violent Conflict in Northern Ireland and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Research Strategic Fund, Strategic Initiative Scheme, NUI, Galway. 10 000 Euros was awarded to Sinisa Malešević (PI) and Niall Ó Dochartaigh to support the on-going project.
2010-2011:
Wars and Nationalisms Conference, McGill University, Montreal. The Social Science Research Centre Conference Series Grant, NUI, Galway, worth 3000 Euros was awarded to support the Centres organisation of the Wars and Nationalism Conference, held at McGill University, Montreal, Canada from the 25-27th of March 2011.
