Starting University
Welcome
Only essential on-site activities may continue on campus, in line with Level 5 measures in the National Framework for Living with COVID-19. These include: (i) Scientific research and development, (ii) Lab-based and practical tuition. All other teaching will be online for the rest of Semester 1.
We at NUI Galway are aware that COVID-19 has had, and continues to have, a huge impact on the lives of our students as we continue to adapt to our new, shared reality. Our number one priority is the safety and wellbeing of our students, as we are navigating this new landscape. Please continue to adhere to the Health Service Executive’s advice on preventing the spread of Covid-19.
As a result of the Government direction, it has implications for teaching delivery and on-campus activity. Your timetable has not changed but the mode of delivery for your classes may well have. Staff across our Schools and Colleges have been amending student timetables and these will be shared with you on our online learning platform Blackboard and/or emails from your School.
