Bahrain

Undergraduate (non-Medicine)

Applicants who have completed their secondary school education in Bahrain and who present scores in the region of 80-85% in the General Secondary Education Certificate are required to complete a recognised foundation programme (see below).

Postgraduate

Applicants for Masters degree programmes must present a four year Bachelor degree with good grades to be considered.

Iran

Undergraduate (non-Medicine)

Applicants who have completed their secondary school education in Iran and who present scores in the region of 80-85% in the Pre-University Certificate (Peeshdaneshgahe) are considered for admission to undergraduate degree programmes. Additional subject requirements may apply.

Postgraduate

Applicants for Masters degree programmes must present a four year Bachelor degree with good grades (14) to be considered. Applicants presenting a Master’s degree with a score of 14 or above will be considered for Ph.D. programmes.

Kuwait

Undergraduate (non-Medicine)

Applicants who have completed their secondary school education in Kuwait and who present scores in the region of 80-85% in the General Secondary Education Certificate are required to complete a recognised foundation programme (see below).

Applicants for Masters degree programmes must present a four year Bachelor degree with good grades to be considered.

Oman

Undergraduate (non-Medicine)

Applicants who have completed their secondary school education in Oman and who present scores in the region of 80-85% in the General Secondary Education Certificate are required to complete a recognised foundation programme (see below).

Qatar

Undergraduate (non-Medicine)

Applicants who have completed their secondary school education in Qatar and who present scores in the region of 80-85% in the General Secondary Education Certificate are required to complete a recognised foundation programme (see below).

Applicants for Masters degree programmes must present a four year Bachelor degree with good grades to be considered.

United Arab Emirates

Undergraduate (non-Medicine)

Emrati applicants presenting A Levels, the International Baccalaureate (IB) or other recognised international qualifications are eligible to apply for direct entry to undergraduate degree programmes.

Applicants presenting the General Secondary Education Certificate, with a minimum score 80-85% are required to complete a recognised foundation programme (see below).

Foundation Programmes

Applicants from non-English speaking countries are normally required to complete a foundation programme before gaining admission to an undergraduate degree.

NUI Galway does not offer an on-campus foundation programme, however we work with the following providers in Ireland:

Dublin International Foundation College (DIFC)

DIFC is situated in Dublin and offers an NCUK accredited  international foundation year programmes in Science, Business and Engineering. For more information, please contact:

Atlantic Language School, Galway

Atlantic Language School is situated in Galway and offers an undergraduate foundation year programme in Business and a general Pre-Masters preparation programme for postgraduate students.
