Ireland is one of the host countries of the King Abdullah Scholarships Programme (KASP). As one of Ireland's leading Universities, NUI Galway welcomes applications from Saudi students who wish to undertake their undergraduate or postgraduate education abroad. Pathway/Foundation Programmes
Students who do not meet the University’s usual English language requirement, or who may benefit from a
year of language and study skills training before commencing their university studies, may be required to undertake a pathway programme prior to entering NUI Galway.
NUI Galway works with a number of specialist language schools and international foundation programme
providers both in Ireland and overseas.

Entry Requirements
Entry to undergraduate programmes requires:
- completion of the Tawjihiyah (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall grade of 85% (to include Mathematics)
- Financial Guarantee from Saudi Arabia Cultural Bureau
- successful completion of a recognised International foundation year programme
- IELTS score of 6.0 (Science and Engineering) or 6.5 (Business)

Entry Requirements (Saudi Arabia)
To be considered for admission to a Masters level programme, students must usually:
- hold a four year Bachelors degree, in a relevant major, from a university recognised by the Saudi Ministry for Higher Education
- present a minimum overall GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0 (or 3.0 out 4.0*)
- complete of a recognised pre-masters foundation programme, leading to the required IELTS score of 6.0 (Science and Engineering) or 6.5 (Business).
Please note that students applying for a Masters degree programme at NUI Galway are normally required to have studied a relevant subject or subject area at an advanced level as part of their Bachelor degree.
Consequently, students presenting Bachelor degree qualifications, containing a significant portion of general or other non-major classes (including Bachelor of Education degrees) may be deemed ineligible for Masters programmes.
