You can print this off and complete it to suit your own needs.  We find that this is useful tool in helping you manage their own finances.

Cost of Living

The cost of living in Galway is comparable to the cost associated with living in Limerick or Cork, but is significantly lower than the cost of living in Dublin. The table below gives a good indication of your monthly costs in Galway.

Student Assistance Fund

The deadline for applications for the Student Assistance Fund (which includes the Childcare Subsidy) has now passed.  We had a very large number of applications and will be reviewing them over the coming weeks.

Investing in Your Future.

If you need to rent accommodation in order to attend your chosen course, this will take up a big part of your overall annual budget.  You should also bear in mind the following costs when managing your budget.

The banks closest to the University are:

• The Bank of Ireland, Concourse, Arts/Science Building
      Bank of Ireland have launched a loan for parents called “ College Fees Loan” at a preferential rate of 10.2% APR.   If a parent borrows €2224, to be repaid monthly over a 12 month period, their monthly repayment would be circa €195/€196.   The loan approval is dependent on the parents’ income and commitments and normal credit criteria.
