Dr Nicola Miller completed her undergraduate and postgraduate training in London and Dublin, specialising in molecular pathology and human genetics. She returned to Galway after several years of clinical research with the Mater Hospital, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and St James' Hospital in Dublin. She has collaborated with clinical researchers in disciplines such as Pathology, Neurology, Haematology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and more recently, Surgery.

Having completed her PhD studies on breast cancer, she focused her post-doctoral career on human genetics and molecular oncology. Nicola is principally responsible for overseeing the varied research projects and general laboratory management including the development of the Cancer Biobank facility. Her main areas of research interest are population genetics and molecular profiling in breast cancer.
