Adding Audio & Video

Option 1: Upload a Video

You should use the Kaltura to add video you have created to Blackboard. This is the easiest and simplest way to get video online for your students to view.

Option 2: Embed Youtube video

You can embed a YouTube video or any other HTML content into any area on your module, using the Rich Text Editor.

Option 3: Add  a YouTube Video

Blackboard Learn has built-in YouTube tools as standard, so adding a YouTube video to your course couldn't be easier!

  1. In the Build Content menu, under Mashups, choose YouTube Video.

    AddMashup
  2. You will then be presented with a YouTube search tool. Enter a search query and click Go (or press Enter on your keyboard).

    Search Results

  3. The results of your search will then be displayed to you. In this example, we've searched for "NUIGalway".

  4. Once you find the video you want, click the Select button.

    Select video

  5. Ensure you enable the radio button for the users to view the video, finally click on the submit button.

    Submit youtube

Option 4: Add Audio

Audio files uploaded to Blackboard should be no larger than 5MB. Accepted formats are MP3, M4A, AAC and WMA.

You can add audio files directly to your Content folder the same way you add a video file. Instead of choosing Video under Create, choose Audio instead.

Keep in mind

Blackboard note that a short welcome video is an easy way to make a connection with your students. They offer some useful advice:
