What is it?

A Video Conference is a live video connection between people in separate locations for the purpose of communication or interaction. Video Conferencing allows people to communicate visually from anywhere around the world.

Uses of video conferencing include:

There is one main, general purpose Video Conference meeting room that can cater for up to 30 people. 

To book this room, you must be a NUI Galway staff member and create a videoconferencing booking account which is seperate to your CASS account. More information is available at

Desktop Videoconferencing (DVC/Vidyo)

Desktop Licenses are available that allows you to Video Conference with other institutes or companies from the comfort of your own desk.  You will need to supply your own web cam and headset/speakers.

Book your video conference here

You will be required to register using your NUIG staff id.

NOTE: You do not have to use your ISS NUIG staff password.

Once you have registered you can then log into the system and make a booking.

  • Once you have made a booking it is possible to copy and reuse this booking for future or similar bookings.
  • All bookings must be approved by the Administrator before they become live on the system.
  • Bookings must be made at least 2 days (48 hours) before the conference date to allow for technical preparation.

This service is provided in association with ISS and HEAnet.
