SFI UREKA Site in Molecular Recognition
Translating Design into Application

Students will be selected on a competitive basis. We will select talented students with evidence of being promising researchers. Student selection will be based on the following criteria: 1) An enthusiastic and well written application letter and CV; 2) past research experience and research interests; 3) awards received and participation in extracurricular activities, and; 4) research project selection and justification of why they find this research interesting, and what they hope to learn.

Applications must be submitted online to Dr. Nina Weisser ( nina.weissernuigalway.ie). A shortlist of applicants that are the most suitable candidates for the projects and programme will be drafted.  These students will be notified and offered their UREKA MolRec research awards in late March 2011. 

Applications will contain:

• A one page application letter (personal statement) describing their interest in this programme, their academic and career goals, their expectations for the programme, and a choice of three projects (in order) in which they are interested including details as to why these projects interests them and will challenge them to learn new techniques
• A one page CV giving details of their academic record, relevant technical skills and experience, previous work experience, and participation in extracurricular activities.
