Welcome to the homepage of the Office of the Vice President for Research at NUI Galway.  The office consists of two integrated units, the Research Office, which provides proactive research support, advice and information to the broad academic community at NUI Galway, and the Ignite Technology Transfer Office, a high performance team that guides breakthrough NUI Galway research to business reality.

Vision

The vision of the Office of the Vice President for Research is to create an environment that will enable NUI Galway to maintain and enhance its status among the top rank of research universities by supporting its academic community in achieving excellence in research.

Mission

The mission of the Office of the Vice President for Research is two-fold: to provide leadership to the University’s broad academic community, research partners and stakeholders, though active engagement, and the provision of professional, research and technology transfer support, expert advice, and information; to support the University’s pursuit of research at the highest international levels by working in partnership with staff to secure and increase funding from external organisations globally, nationally, and regionally, as well improving our overall research performance, accomplishments and reputation.
