Medical technology and devices industry in the west of ireland: An industry based case study

Whitaker Institute undertook this research project in 2003 on behalf
of the Western Development Commission, in order to facilitate its
strategy deliberations. This work built on previous research undertaken
by Whitaker Institute personnel in respect of the medical devices sector in the BMW
region in Ireland, which explored the relevance of the clustering
concept for this sector in the Atlantic Technology Corridor.
A related study reviewing international trends in a number of industry
sectors was undertaking in parallel for the WDC
