Finding ways to relax the economy environment tradeoff is a critical policy concern. Appropriate policy tools require sound theoretical and empirical understanding of the
determinants of performance at the firm level. The past decade's research
literature on these issues has increasingly pointed to the importance of underlying organisational capabilities in complementing the efficacy of particular technology and management practices. Our study focuses on modelling the observable and unobservable capabilities that may affect the relationships among key business and environmental variables.
