16 Days of Activism to End Violence against Women

Global Women's Studies and the Feminist Society at NUIG are hosting a series of events to mark the 16 Days of Activism to end Violence against Women, linking International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (Nov. 25th) to International Human Rights Day (Dec. 10th).

You are warmly invited to attend these free public events.

Events

• 22 November: Bake sale in aid of COPE, Domestic Violence Response and GRRC - donations appreciated. 9.30 -11.30: Smokey's/Concourse.
   
• 22 November: Public Lecture: 'Feminist reflections on researching so-called "honour" killings', Aisha Gill, Roehampton University, UK, 16.00-17.30: SAC Room / Room CA110, Cairnes (ground floor, adjacent to Friars, St.Anthony's)
   
• 25 November: A Night Full of Pictures 19.00-21.30 Siobhan McKenna Theatre, Arts Millennium.
   
• 26 November: 'One in Five' National Balloon Action. 12 noon: The new pedestrian O'Shaughnessy Bridge.
   
• 28 November: Silence for Savita, All day. Sign up 9.30-11.00 in Smokey's/Concourse.
   
• 5 December: Prostitution/Sex Work - Expert Panel 19.00-21.00: Siobhan McKenna Theatre, Arts Millennium.
