Curriculum Vitae:
Since 2006: PhD student in the lab of Prof. Wallace Arthur, NUI Galway (Ireland).
2005 – 2006: Diploma thesis in the lab of Dr. Gerrit Begemann,
Department of Evolutionary Biology, University of Konstanz (Germany). Title: "Analysis of the molecular and developmental mechanisms involved in the formation of sexually dimorphic fins in swordtail fish".
2002 – 2006: Advanced study period (Hauptstudium) at the Albert-Ludwigs-University, Freiburg (Germany).
1999 – 2002: Basic study period (Grundstudium) at the University of Hamburg (Germany).
Research:

I work on the evolution of animal segmentation. Our working organism is the centipede
Strigamia maritima where I address questions about the development of the centipede embryo and the intraspecific variation in segment number in this animal. This variation makes
Strigamia maritima a valuable model for evolutionary and developmental analysis.
