Welcome to the School of Psychology at NUI, Galway!

Welcome to the School of Psychology which I am very proud to lead! The School is dynamic, innovative and internationally recognised for its teaching, research, service to students and contribution to the wider community. We are at a very exciting stage in our development having finalised our Strategic Plan 2010-2014, introduced 5 new Structured PhD programmes alongside our undergraduate, Masters, PhD and professional doctoral programmes and formally identified 4 active research clusters within the School. These are ‘Clinical, Behavioural and Biological Psychology’, ‘Lifespan Development’, ‘Perception, Cognition and Action’ and ‘Psychology and Health’ and they will enable further fruitful collaborations for research grants, advance of knowledge and publications. I am delighted that the Governing Authority of the University this summer has approved funding for a new building that will bring the School of Psychology onto one location in the centre of the campus for the first time in its 39 year history.
