Multidisciplinary Radiology (MSc/PDip)
Course Overview
The MSc/PDip in Multidisciplinary Radiology is a blended course. It is taught using traditional class-based educational activities and contemporary distance learning technologies. The course is multidisciplinary in nature, with a fully integrated clinical and radiological multidisciplinary approach to patient care both among faculty and learners. It is designed for health professionals who rely on imaging for decision making, or those for whom a radiology qualification may offer new career progression routes.
Students can take the programme to PgCert or PDip level, and it even offers limited access to stand-alone modules as CPD credits.
The modules are flexible and can be undertaken even if you do not live in Ireland. However, you will be required to travel to campus three to six times over two years to attend class-based components. We have designed the class-based modules in one-week blocks to make travelling arrangements easier.
To complete the course to MSc level, one core module and five optional modules out of eight must be passed, followed by a dissertation. Overall 90 ECTS (credits) required for Masters, 60 for PG Diploma.
- Core module: basic Radiology sciences, including Radiological Anatomy, Physics, strengths and limitations of different modalities. (One-week taught component with six weeks’ self- directed learning activities before and after the module, normally late in October.)
- Five optional clinical modules: each 10 ECTs equivalent. (One week taught component with six weeks’ self-directed learning activities before and after the module.)
- Optional generic modules: with blended learning, primarily online. Each is 10 ECTs equivalent.
- Dissertation: 30 ECTs equivalent dissertation to complete Master’s degree.
