Alumni Awards
The NUI Galway Alumni Awards celebrates individual excellence and achievements amongst over 100,000 graduates worldwide. These awardees are leaders in their professions and excel in their fields on a national and international level. All over the world you will find graduates making an outstanding contribution in great ways and in small ways.
The Awards programme boasts an impressive roll call of over 100 outstanding NUI Galway alumni to date who have gone on to honour their alma mater, including Michael D. Higgins, Ciarán FitzGerald, Sean O’Rourke (RTÉ), Aedhmar Hynes, Pat Rabbitte, Adrian Jones (Goldman Sachs), Olive Loughnane (Olympian) and Marie Mullen, Tony award winning actress.
Nominations for the NUI Galway Alumni Awards 2021 are open. Is féidir ainmniúcháin a dhéanamh anois do Ghradaim Alumni 2021.
Representing the diversity of NUI Galway, the seven categories include:
- Arts, Literature & Celtic Studies
- Business and Commerce
- Engineering, Science and Technology
- Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences
- Law, Public Policy and Government
- Contribution to Sport
- Gaeilge
Nominations will be handled in strict confidence and should include a brief description of the nominee and their achievements (no more than 20 lines). To avoid disappointment, please do not disclose your nomination to the nominee.
Submissions can be emailed to alumni@nuigalway.ie and the Alumni Awards will be presented at an awards ceremony and Gala Banquet in the Bailey Allen Hall, NUI Galway on date to be confirmed in 2021.
