Course overview
TechInnovate is a unique team-based technology innovation fellowship at NUI Galway, where teams identify real needs in a certain domain and invent/implement solutions. The programme is a 10-month full-time stipend-supported fellowship. This fellowship has been established to inspire and create the next generation of techpreneurs (entrepreneurial technologists), forming new companies and strengthening existing ones. High-calibre Fellows are recruited to form 2–3 person interdisciplinary teams and participate in an intensive 10-month programme that goes from concept to product.
“This unique programme in TechInnovation is an important and novel interdisciplinary fellowship designed to create a new type entrepreneurial technologist for Ireland. I believe that this team-based programme will equip Fellows strongly with the requisite skills in technology, business and innovation to enable them to succeed in the ‘smart economy’ and harness technology of the future. Whether as startup entrepreneurs or within medium and large technology-focused companies, I believe that TechInnovate alumni will become key drivers of the digital economy.”—Dr. James Browne, President, NUI Galway
