The organisation and delivery of the course will be subject to the public health and safety advice in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic at that time and NUI Galway will be strictly adhering to Government public health guidelines in all aspects of the programme.

To provide the students with an introduction to the Irish language in an authentic Irish-speaking setting, drawing on the expertise of our highly-experienced teaching staff. The courses are aligned with the Common European Framework for Languages, and will be offered at A2 and B1 level depending on the ability and prior knowledge of the students. The courses are not suitable for complete beginners, some previous study/knowledge of the language is required.

A2: Personal details, Travel and Holidays, Home place, Work and Study, Communicating in the restaurant, Describing people, Making arrangements and plans, Shopping, Directions, Requesting a Favour; Prepositional Pronouns, Tenses and Moods, The Copula, Gender of Nouns, Adjectives, The Dative Case

B1: Cur in Aithne agus Sonraí Pearsanta, Ceantar & Áit Chónaithe, An Teaghlach, Cúrsaí Taistil agus Laethanta Saoire, Teangacha agus Náisiúntachtaí, An Saol Laethúil, Caitheamh Aimsire agus Féilte, Ag Cur Tuairimí in iúl, Tréithe Daoine, Tinneas agus Mothúcháin
