Supporting Documents
Supporting Documents
Below are a list supporting documents that may be required to be submitted as part of the application process for your part-time course.
- Proof of Identity: a copy of your Birth Certificate, Passport or Drivers Licence.
- Proof of Secondary Education: If you are aged under 21 on January 1st of the year of Admission to a part-time course, a copy of evidence of completion of your Secondary Education for NUI Galway to check if you fulfil the matriculation requirements for the University.
- Official qualifications and exam results (transcripts) to date: required for all non-NUIG applicants and for NUIG graduates who did not receive their undergraduate degrees from NUI Galway. Applicants who have still to graduate must upload final transcripts on receipt.
- English language competency: if applicable, evidence of English language competency. All applicants, whose first language is not English, or who have not been educated through the medium of the English language during their two most recent years of study, must present one of the following qualifications in the English language: IELTS: 6.5 or TOEFL (IBT): 92.
- Personal statement: applicants must enclose a personal statement of approximately 600 words for some courses (as indicated), explaining why you wish to undertake the course(s) of your choice, outlining how it fits into your career objectives, unless indicated otherwise. Our Career Development Service have created a helpful booklet to help you write your Personal Statement.
- Some courses will specify specific work experience as part of the entry requirements (e.g. Social Care, Early Childhood Studies and Community Development Practice).
- Other courses will require a pass in Maths at leaving certificate or equivalent to gain entry to the course (e.g. Science & Technology, Commerce).
- Students are required to submit a current Curriculum Vitae (along with other supporting documentation) for the following courses: Software Engineering, Innovation Management and Technology Commercialisation.
- Proof of Funding: evidence of funding from your employer/sponsor.
IMPORTANT: Some part-time courses require additional documentation. Please refer to the individual course page for specific entry criteria.
