Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Biography
Marian works as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in University College Hospital Galway. Marian's area of specialty is in Vascular with extensive experience and clinical expertise in carotid, aortic, peripheral artery disease, venous disease and lymphoedema. This specialist practice encompass a major clinical focus, which comprises assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care given to patients/clients and their families in hospital, community and outpatient settings. Marian works closely with medical and allied health colleagues and can make alterations in prescribed clinical options along agreed protocols.There is a strong focus on health promotion and education in order to promote self-management of vascular disease. Marian participates in and disseminates research and audits. She provides consultancy in education and clinical practice to medical/nursing colleagues and the wider interdisciplinary team.
