Patients and Healthy Volunteer Information

The Cancer Biobank is housed in the Lambe Institute, located on the grounds University Hospital Galway, and managed by the Discipline of Surgery.

A biobank is a collection of clinical samples vital for researchers to investigate how cancer develops, is diagnosed and treated. We collect and store biological samples, e.g. blood and tissue, from consenting patients and healthy volunteers. All samples are coded before storage so they are not identifiable.

You will find more information on participant involvement and how we protect your data and samples by watching our video or reading our partipant infomation leaflet.
