The decision to study a Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a critical one given the financial and personal investment involved. The NUI Galway Executive MBA recently attained AMBA accreditation which is the global mark of excellence for MBA education.
The NUI Galway Executive MBA integrates an academically rigorous and challenging real-world business education. The programme is industry-led and globally-focussed providing you with the knowledge, transferable skills and confidence required for innovative and effective management and leadership.

Investing in an Executive MBA is a very important decision. The Executive MBA at NUI Galway will provide an excellent return on investment resulting in increased confidence, competence and capability to accelerate your career.
Entry to the Executive MBA is open to graduates who have at least three years of professional, administrative or business experience. Individuals who have professional qualifications recognised by the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics as being equivalent to a primary degree may also be considered for admission.
Applications from non-graduates who have a minimum of five years professional, business or administrative experience may be considered for the Postgraduate Diploma in Management, which is equivalent to the first year of the Executive MBA programme. Candidates who successfully complete the Postgraduate Diploma are eligible for admission to the second year of the Executive MBA.
All qualifying applicants must attend an interview, after which successful candidates are chosen. Candidates may also be required to have a satisfactory GMAT score and may be required to secure 6.5 in IELTS/TOEFL (with not less than 5.5 in any one component).
How do I apply?
Applications for both the Executive MBA and Postgraduate Diploma are made online via the Postgraduate Applications Centre.
Executive MBA: GYC16
Postgraduate Diploma in Management: GYC17
Candidates are required to submit the following:
- Application form including references and education history
- Personal statement outlining how the programme fits into your career objectives
- CV (maximum 3 pages)
- Other supporting documentation including, but not limited to, university transcripts and birth certificate
When are applications due?
Applications are now being received and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
How much does it cost?
€13,850 per annum for EU students.
EU students have the option of paying their fees in two equal instalments in September and January each academic year.

In Semester I students attend classes for a three-day period (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) five times each semester.
