Biography

Breda Lally holds a BA and MA from NUI Galway.  She initially worked as a research assistant at NUI Galway for a period of three years before undertaking research for Teagasc under a Walsh Fellowship Scheme.  She has been working as a lecturer at NUI Galway since 1999.  She was based in St. Angela’s College, Sligo from 1999 to 2015 where she taught Economics on the undergraduate BA (Environment and Society/Youth and Family Studies) programme offered by NUI Galway and was programme director for a number of years.  She is currently lecturing in NUI Galway, where she contributes to undegraduate and postgraduate teaching in Economics.  She is also currently programme director for the Higher Diploma in Business Studies programme. Her research interests include environmental and agri-environmental economics.

Teaching Interests

Teaching InterestsI currently teach a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules.  These include three first year modules (Principles of Microeconomics, Skills for Economics I, Skills for Economics II), two final year modules (Public Economics and Natural Resource and Environmental Economics) and one module at postgraduate level (Principles of Economics for Business).  I also supervise masters dissertations.In the past I have taught the following modules:
