Teanga an Dlí
Clúdaíonn an Sruth Gaeilge na modúil a bhaineann le Teanga an Dlí a thugann deis do mhic léinn a gcuid scileanna labhartha agus scríofa Gaeilge a fhorbairt, agus a dtéarmaíocht dlí Gaeilge a fheabhsú. Cuirfear ar chumas na mac léinn smaointe agus tuairimí a chur in iúl trí Ghaeilge ó bhéal agus i scríbhinn.
Deiseanna Fostaíochta
Is í seo an cháilíocht is fearr do mhic léinn atá ag iarraidh gairm a mhúnlú dóibh féin sa dlí agus raon deiseanna fostaíochta spreagúla a bheith ar fáil dóibh trí mheán na Gaeilge. Tugann an cháilíocht deiseanna fostaíochta i ranna dlí in eagraíochtaí Gaeilge, gnólachtaí dlí a sholáthraíonn comhairle dlí trí Ghaeilge, an earnáil phoiblí, aistriúchán agus ateangaireacht dhlíthiúil, agus na meáin. Tá deiseanna fostaíochta iontacha ar fáil freisin do Dhlítheangeolaithe in Institiúidí an Aontais Eorpaigh. Cinntíonn Dlítheangeolaithe an AE go bhfuil an bhrí chéanna le gach reachtaíocht nua i ngach teanga Eorpach.
Bliain 3: Socrúchán Oibre Gairmiúil agus an Ghaeltacht
Buntáiste mór atá ag mic léinn ar an gcúrsa seo is ea go gcaitheann siad seimeastar amháin den tríú bliain ag staidéar ar champas Gaeltachta OÉ Gaillimh ar an gCeathrú Rua agus seimeastar eile ar shocrúchán oibre gairmiúil i dtimpeallacht dlí ina labhraítear Gaeilge.

Ní mór do mhic léinn ar mian leo tabhairt faoin Sruth Gaeilge grád H4 ar a laghad a bheith acu i nGaeilge san Ardteistiméireacht.
Irish-Language Stream
The Irish-Language Stream allows students to develop their Irish-language skills throughout their four year full law degree. The stream is available for students undertaking the following law degrees:

- Law and Business GY250
- Law (BCL) and Human Rights GY252
- Law and Taxation GY253
- Law (BCL), Criminology and Criminal Justice GY254

Legal Irish Modules
The Irish-Language Stream covers Legal Irish modules which give students the opportunity to develop their Irish oral and Irish written skills, and enhance their Irish legal terminology. Students will be empowered to communicate ideas and opinions through oral and written Irish.
Career Opportunities
It is the ideal qualification for students who want to build a career in law and open up a range of exciting job opportunities working through the Irish-language. The qualification opens up opportunities for employment in legal departments of an Irish-language organisation, law firms which provide legal advice through the Irish-language, the public sector, legal translation and interpretation, and in the media. There are also great job opportunities for Irish Lawyer Linguists in the Institutions of the European Union. EU Lawyer Linguists ensure that all new legislation has the same meaning in every European language.
Year 3: Professional Work Placement and Gaeltacht
A great advantage that students studying this course have is that in year three the programme is divided between one semester studying at NUI Galway’s Gaeltacht campus in An Cheathrú Rua and one semester of professional work placement in an Irish-speaking legal environment.
Entry Requirements
Students who wish to undertake the Irish-Language Stream must have at least a H4 grade or higher in Leaving Cert Irish.
