The National University of Ireland, Galway seeks to appoint a Lecturer (Below the Bar) in Disability Law. Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer (Below the Bar) in Disability Law at the School of Law and the Centre for Disability Law & Policy, NUI Galway. Applicants will normally have a Ph.D in the field of disability law and policy at or near completion or an equivalent academic qualification in law or a related discipline.
The successful candidate will be required to teach and coordinate the delivery of the LLM in International & Comparative Disability Law, and to contribute to the delivery of undergraduate, LLM and PhD programmes in the School of Law.
The successful candidate will have an active research profile in disability law demonstrated by strong evidence of future potential to contribute to the research output of the School of Law and the Centre for Disability Law & Policy, in accordance with evolving international standards. S/he is expected to play a productive role in enhancing the teaching, research and related activities of the School of Law and the Centre for Disability Law & Policy. Duties will include teaching, examining and administration in postgraduate programmes and other appropriate contributions to the broader activities of the School of Law and the Centre for Disability Law & Policy.

Salary: At Lecturer Below the Bar level
€37,602 to €58,360 p.a. (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
(This appointment will be made on the Lecturer Fixed Term scale in line with current Government pay policy)
(For pre 1995 public sector entrants in Ireland, the D class Salary rates will apply)
