Why?

Information for Communities

Community-Engaged Research can address your organisation's needs in terms of research. Your organisation will have the chance to access academic knowledge in a broader sense without any charge. Apart from engaging in collaborative research projects, there will also be the opportunity to share ideas, knowledge, experience and expertise with students and academic staff through the activities and events organised by EPIC.

Information for Students

Community-Engaged Research provides an opportunity for you to implement the skills and knowledge you have acquired on real life projects with significant local impact. At the same time, you will gain valuable work experience which will contribute to enhance your confidence; you will have the chance to move outside the university and link to local networks and organisations. And you will gain and improve skills such as communication, negotiation, project management, among many others.

Information for Academic Staff

EPIC supports the development of research partnership projects between the academic staff/students of University of Galway and community/civil society organisations. This is a great opportunity for academic staff to share their expertise and to be able to get research topics for their students that will fulfill community needs.
