Biography

Aoife graduated from NUI Galway in 1996 (B.Sc. Experimental Physics) and then completed a masters at Imperial College London in 1997 (M.Sc. Engineering and Physical Science in Medicine).

She worked as a researcher in the Dept. of Sensorimotor Systems, Charing Cross Hospital before returning to complete a Ph.D. at Imperial College London (Bioengineering - Pulmonary Haemodynamics).  

On her return to Ireland in 2002, she joined NUIG as a junior lecturer in the NCBES before making the move to University Hospital Galway where she practiced as a professional Medical physicist/Bioengineer for 14 years with 
special interests in ultrasound imaging and non-ionising radiation.

She moved to the Dept. of Psychology, NUI Galway in 2018 to take up a position as Senior Technical Officer where she has a special interest in psychophysiological measurement.
