The objective of the module is to develop students' understanding of Enterprise Systems. It will look at Enterprise Systems from different perspectives: why they are used; how they are used; the different sub-systems (Enterprise Resource Planning, Supply Chain Management, Customer Relationship Management) contained within the Enterprise Systems. It will also deal with how these systems are designed, implemented and updated.

  1. Understand the nature and features of enterprise systems
  2. Describe various types of enterprise systems such as ERP, SCM and CRM
  3. Understand and fully describe the different modules of an enterprise system
  4. Understand how enterprise systems are designed, developed and implemented
  5. Understand and be able to discuss the strategic and business impacts of enterprise systems
  6. Critically discuss key issues and problems surrounding the use and implementation of enterprise systems
