MicroCreds
What are Micro-credentials?
Micro-credentials are short, accredited learning experiences that facilitate flexible and innovative professional development. A micro-credential is a proof of the learning outcomes that a learner has acquired following a short learning experience. It can accelerate your career by providing you with industry leading knowledge, expertise and skills.

These qualifications are designed in partnership with enterprise that allow learners the flexibility to develop skills and expand their careers in a way that suits them.
When will Micro-credentials be available at NUI Galway?
NUI Galway are currently developing an agile suite of flexibly delivered micro-credentials which will be available from September 2022.
What is the Micro-credential Project?
MicroCreds is an ambitious 5-year, €12.3 million project (2020-2025) led by the IUA in partnership with seven IUA universities: Dublin City University, Trinity College Dublin, Maynooth University, NUI Galway, University College Cork, University College Dublin and University of Limerick. The project funding was awarded following a competitive process under the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science’s (DFHERIS) Human Capital Initiative Pillar 3 Innovation and Agility, with funding drawn from the National Training Fund.
