Catherine O'Mahony is the Director of the Centre for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL) in University College Cork.

In this role she provides direction and leadership for CIRTL activities, aligning these with institutional, national and international policies and practices relating to teaching and learning enhancement. She is leading an institution-wide initiative to implement the Connected Curriculum as part of UCC’s new Academic Strategy. She provides strategic insight into the research foci of the Centre and oversees CIRTL’s national and international research projects. She teaches on the postgraduate Community Based Participatory Research module, is a founding member of UCC's Community Academic Research Links initiative and is co-author of UCC’s Civic Engagement plan. Her research interests include Higher Education Management, Undergraduate Research, Community Based Research, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
