Electrical & Electronic Engineering involves the design and development of devices, circuits and systems used in high-tech products, e.g.: smart-phones, anti-lock braking systems (ABS), photovoltaic (PV) systems and cardiac pacemakers.

EEE is a 4 year (honours) level 8 degree programme, which leads to an Engineers Ireland accredited B.E. qualification that is recognised worldwide. The programme is comprised of lectures, laboratory classes, assignments and project work. A period of 8 months Professional Experience Placement (PEP) is included in the 3rd year, where students are employed as intern Electrical & Electronic Engineers in industry. Training in communications skills, teamwork and ethics is provided in 3rd year to prepare students for the working environment.
