Exam Venues
Examination Venues
Important Venue Information Exams Semester 1 2021
- Exam Halls are very safe environments from a public health perspective.
- Natural Physical Distancing occurs in Exam Halls due to the layout of seating.
- Ventilation will be maximised in exam venues.
- We are building in long gaps between exams sittings to provide for further ventilation of venues.
- Entry and exit to exams will be managed carefully to prevent congregation - and exam venues will open early to facilitate this.
- You will be required to wear your face mask for the duration of the exam.
- You will be given wipes to wipe down your desk and chair.
- Every night we will be deep cleaning large exam venues to ensure venues are appropriately sanitised.
- Where students are medically vulnerable or live with people who are medically vulnerable and therefore have an exemption from attending in-person lectures, we will do our utmost to provide alternative venues to allow you to complete your exam here - contact Exams Office here for more details.

Note: For Semester 1 Exams only, some exams will be held in off-campus venues.Venues include The Galway Bay Hotel and Leisureland, Salthill.
The Examinations Office does not provide transport to off-campus exam venues.
The Students Union arranges buses to Salthill during the Semester 1 exam session. Details can be found here.
