Our Galway International Arts Festival and University of Galway Partnership

Galway International Arts Festival has been a cultural highlight for over 40 years, and University of Galway has been proud to serve as the Education Partner for the festival. Reflecting on the successful 2023 Galway International Arts Festival, we continue to cherish our ongoing partnership and the shared successes of past years.

2023's memorable acts included the staging of Enda Walsh’s Bedbound, starring Colm Meaney and Brenda Meaney. The Heineken Big Top, located on University of Galway's campus, hosted electrifying performances from Kettama, Pavement, Bell X1, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Kaiser Chiefs, The Coronas, and two sold-out shows for The Saw Doctors.

The Galway International Arts Festival has been connecting audiences and artists for over 40 years, and as such, we are proud to announce that University of Galway will remain its Education Partner for the next five years. With a longstanding partnership between the Galway International Arts Festival and University of Galway, this collaboration highlights the strong bond, as well as the synchronicities between the two entities, in their joined commitment to nurturing artistic talent, promoting cultural education, celebrating creativity, and fostering artistic growth.
