Professional Support Recruitment
Professional Support Posts
Support positions include administrative, technical, library, and general operatives. Applications to fill an existing or new post should be submitted to the relevant Dean or UMT member.
All new administrative posts must be graded through the University’s Grading Committee prior to submission.
Please ensure the job description includes clear desirable and essential criteria (for shortlisting purposes).
A Post Owner must complete a Post Proposal Form (if post is research funded), RIF - Support, Job Description/Employee Spec and return to HR Recruitment before the recruitment competition is progressed. Please ensure that you submit all documentation 2 weeks before the advertising date to ensure your post(s) are included.

- All administrative posts from Grade 2 to Grade 5 , and all Technical and General Operative posts, will be advertised internally in the first instance for two weeks.
- All AO posts will be advertised internally for 3 weeks.
- A request to advertise a post in a Professional Support Unit (other than Senior Administration, above AO level) externally (without an internal recruitment campaign) must be approved in the first instance by the Director of Human Resources.
