Virtual Learning Environment (Blackboard)

Description

Blackboard is the University’s Virtual Learning Environment. The VLE provides a medium for supporting teaching and learning activities, including assessment and examination. Information Solutions and Services provide technical support for the Blackboard VLE platform and account creation in tandem with student registration and staff HR processes.

The Blackboard portal can be accessed at https://nuigalway.blackboard.com/

Prerequisites For The Use This Service

Students

Students must be currently registered to access the Blackboard service. Students log in to Blackboard using their standard User ID and password (i.e. Campus Account credentials).

Staff

Staff must be currently on the NUI Galway payroll (excludes retired staff). Staff log in to Blackboard using their existing staff ID and password (i.e. Campus Account credentials).

Blackboard is available 24x7 from on and off campus

Cost

There is no charge to students or staff for the use of Blackboard
