How do I get a computer account?‌

The username you receive for your computer account is unique to the University

• Permanent and fixed-term contract staff are issued with a six-digit payroll number by Human Resources. Your Campus Account ID/username is derived by preceding your six-digit payroll number with a leading zero ‘0’ and adding a trailing ‘S’.  e.g. payroll no. 123456 is Campus Account ID 0123456s. HR will issue you with your temporary Campus Account password. You must activate your Campus Account before accessing any of the below services.
• Hourly Paid staff on the University of Galway payroll are issued with a six-digit payroll number by Human Resources. Your Campus Account ID/Username will follow the same format as the permanent and fixed-term contract staff above. HR will issue you with your temporary Campus Account password.  You must activate your Campus Account before accessing any of the below services.
• Visitors or temporary users (staff-sponsored visitors to the University of Galway) get an External ‘E’ account and activation password assigned by Information Solutions and Services (ISS). ISS will provide your Campus Account credentials, ID number (e.g. 2201234E), and password. These accounts are issued for a period of less than one academic year. You must activate your Campus Account before accessing any of the below services.

You will use this username and password to access a range of IT services, Email, PCs, Parking, WiFi, Blackboard, Library Systems, and CORE portal.  For security reasons, it is important that you change the password regularly. ‌
