• Multi-Function Printer (MFP): a dedicated device that combines the functions of a printer, a print release station, a photocopier and a scanner.
  • Print Release Station: a dedicated computer that allows you view and/or release print jobs submitted to release print queues in the past 24 hours.
  • Email Printing: the ability to submit a print job via eMail. The document to be printed is attached to an email. The eMail is then sent to one of two email addresses (Black & White or Colour).
  • Print queue: a series of files or documents that have been sent to a particular printer and are waiting to be printed.
  • Print Credit: a monetary balance used for printing that is purchased in advance of use. It can be purchased via the print kiosks or the online print credit system.
  • Managed Print Service: enables departments to control how they share and use multi-function printers with their staff/postgraduates.
  • Portable Document Format (PDF): computer file format to present documents, such as text formatting. They are created with products, such as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Web browser: a software application that is used for presenting information over the World Wide Web. Examples include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.
